Founder story · Stonehenge Weightlifting

How the founder runs his gym

Adam White owns Stonehenge Weightlifting, a coaching gym in Cedar Park, just outside Austin: personal training, strength classes and Olympic lifting. He coaches most of the day. There is no marketing department.

Mothership started as the tools he built to run that gym: edit the website, read the analytics, vet the leads, watch the ads. This page is what that looks like in practice, pulled from his site’s change history and his own chat with the assistant.

Before and after

Same gym, nine months later

Before
The Stonehenge Weightlifting homepage in January 2026: a dark gym photo behind the headline Olympic Weightlifting in Cedar Park, with four program cards and prices below
stonehengewl.com on January 25, 2026, rendered from the first entry in the site’s change history. The Internet Archive’s copy from that week is missing the hero photo, so this is the faithful one.
After
The current Stonehenge Weightlifting homepage: a full-bleed photo of a lifter squatting with a coach watching, headline Get Strong, Stay Strong, and a Find Your Coach button

January starts on the 25th. October runs through the 23rd.

February and March were the rebuild. Since then it is a steady drip: a page fixed, an offer changed, a form rerouted, almost every week. That drip is the whole idea.

The honest part

Where the tools ran

From January to August the assistant that made most of these 386 changes ran on Adam’s own laptop. It was the prototype of Mothership: the same skills for editing the site, reading analytics, vetting leads and checking ads, before they had a home anyone else could log into.

Since late August he also uses the hosted Mothership, the same product his customers use: ads, leads and analytics questions go there, and since October so do site changes, like adding a new trainer. The requests above come from that chat. The founder dogfoods it. When something in it annoys him, it gets fixed.
